Week 3: Discussion Question 2
Sources that I consider more trustworthy are those written in journals,
especially peer-reviewed journals. Other issues that I look for in a
source are a minimal amount of bias in the writing; as well as the
education level and expertise of the author with regard to the
information presented.
There are three initial things I look for when evaluating the
credibility, or trustworthiness, of a source. The first item I check is
if the source is a reliable type of source; such as a reputable
reference, journal or book, as compared to a personal web page.
Secondly, I look to see if the author has the expertise, and
experience, to provide an educated assessment of the material. Finally,
I look to see if the source has any excessive bias, which would make it
an unacceptable reference.
