1: Checkpoint - Taking a Position
I took the position
that a specific negative post, made on a blog, about Multiple Sclerosis
was unacceptable. There were multiple considerations that were
relevant to the issue. A diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis is not
something that requires a radical change to the person's life; and
while small changes are necessary, it is not something to be negative
about. Furthermore, having a negative attitude about life, and
all the things that you presuppose can no longer be done, is radically
unhealthy. Finally, by posting that publicly the writer did a
disservice to the Multiple Sclerosis community by encouraging that
attitude; even more so to those recently diagnosed.
