Week 7: Checkpoint - Argument Validity
Argument: home school is a superior educational method .
Premise -> Private Tutoring provides a superior method of
instruction because it allows the material, curriculum, and
presentation to be tailored to the child's needs.
--> Home School inherently operates as a private tutoring system.
Conclusion --> Home schooling is superior to a traditional school system.
Good/Bad
The argument is good because the premises do lead logically to the conclusion.
Valid/Invalid
The argument is valid because it strictly adheres to the logical
form. The metric of private tutoring was established as a means
of gauging the efficacy of an educational system. I then
demonstrated that in fact does fulfill the metric and thus I can
validly conclude with home schooling is superior.
