Regardless of the validity Hispanic immigrants and
illegal Hispanic immigrants are viewed as taking jobs from Americans.
The basis for this is that they are willing to work for less money,
possibly less than minimum wage for an illegal immigrant, than an
American is willing to be compensated for the same work.

Hispanics
have virtually no power when compared to the mainstream American
culture. This is exacerbated by their group being poorly represented
especially when considering their size. This is further exacerbated
since Hispanic immigrants, and their neighborhoods, tend to only speak
Spanish and are poorly educated. Finally, the Hispanics tend to stay
in one locale to stay close to the family rather than pursuing better
career and educational opportunities elsewhere. This serves to just
further limit their abilities to foster change.
