Week 8: Discussion Question 2
The key advantage that European immigrants has over other minority
groups was the availability, and access to, educational
institutions. Education presented itself as a key element on the
twentieth century as modern machinery was replacing many blue collar
jobs. On the other hand it created many new white collar jobs
that typically required an education. With European immigrants
have a far superior access to the United States educational resources
they were best positioned to fill these jobs.
