Week 1: CheckPoint - The Human Condition
In my opinion visual arts best depict the human condition. In the
present time the Postmodern art reflects the prevailing attitude that
there are no absolutes and that meaning is personal and
individual. This can be seen in art work as a mixing of a number
of diverse, and possibly contradictory, elements incorporated into a
work. Examples can be seen with religious symbols, and symbolism,
from a number of faiths in one work. Another example are the
current works with no discernible image. This gives the viewer
unlimited potential to interpret the painting as it simultaneously
means both everything and nothing.
