Probably the most significant aspect of the creative expressions,
especially in the visual arts, of Africa and Latin America influencing
modern art is through the mystical and spiritual nature. The
Latin art frequently engages this through depictions of both Indian and
Catholic spirituality. Even Frida incorporated spiritual and
mystical ideals into a number of her self portraits.
